They will take off their robes and their embroidered clothes and sit trembling on the ground. They will be so terrified at your fate that they will not be able to stop trembling. 17) They will sing this funeral song for you: The famous city is destroyed! Her ships have been swept from the seas. The people of this city ruled the seas and terrified all who lived on the coast. 18:11) The businessmen of the earth also cry and mourn for her, because no one buys their goods any longer; X Reference 18:11 Ezekiel 27:31,36 31) They shave their heads for you and dress themselves in sackcloth. Their hearts are bitter as they weep. 36) You are gone, gone for ever, and merchants all over the world are terrified, afraid that they will share your fate." 18:12) No one buys their gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; their goods of linen, purple cloth, silk, and scarlet cloth; all kinds of rare woods and all kinds of objects made of ivory and of expensive wood, of bronze iron and marble; 13) And cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; wine and oil, flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and carriages, slaves and even human lives. X Reference 18:12-13 Ezekiel 27:12,13,22 12) "You did business in Spain and took silver, iron, tin, and lead in payment for abundant goods. 13) You did business in Greece, Tubal and Meshech and traded your goods for slaves and for articles of bronze. 22) For your goods the merchants of Sheba and Raamah exchanged jewels, gold, and the finest spices. 18:14) The business say to her, "All the good things you longed to own have disappeared, and all your wealth and glamour are gone, and you will never find them again! 18:15) The businessmen, who became rich from doing business in that city, will stand a long way off, because they are afraid of sharing in her suffering.
