Morning Weather Watchers... Im back and after whats been a luvverly settled spell be prepared for a long essay - youve been warned... In the Caribbean there is another interesting development in the form of Hurricane Edouard that could potentially affect our weather next weekend - for the good of course! In the short term, high pressure will remain over Scandinavia which has, and will continue to do so, created a blocking pattern and keeping the low pressure off the west coast of Spain at bay - and this has been there for a week also! As this low tries to make inroads towards the UK this will create a squeeze in pressure meaning the Easterly winds will strengthen in all parts as the week progresses. Though it is likely to remain dry in the coming week, showers may affect Eastern and South Eastern England on Tuesday and Wednesday! All week, mist and low cloud will move in from the east overnight burning back to sunny spells by day with some warm sunshine at times - particularly in Central, Southern and the South West! As is always difficult to explain in Laymens Terms, the jet stream that normally brings us autumnal low pressure systems at this time of year, continues to send these systems toward Greenland and Iceland in the North Atlantic and Hurricane Edouard will definitely get caught up in this eventually ending up between Iceland and Greenland by Friday. The outward spiral effect of this will be dry air which will mean that there will not be any westerly influences keeping all weather fronts and any potential rain at bay, thus creating a Southwesterly or even a Southerly air flow drawing in warmth and potential heat from Spain and North Africa in time for next weekend nationally - this is in my opinion, and as ever, with the weather, it may change, but I doubt it! This means that temps could climb to between 23C 73F and 25C 77F but keep an eye on my updates! This week, temps will be between 18C 64F rising to 21C 70F with 23C 73F by Friday and above this next weekend... And this is your weather forecast for the week ahead... For now :-)
