Morning cafe moment with animal ethics: Ive been wondering.. One of the main problems with the situation concerning animals is, that while there a many qualified theorists of ethics and tenable arguments in favour of ethical treatment, the majority of the people in responsible of the wide spread meat industry and cruel behaviour towards animals are actually not interested in listening the theoretics like they are not prepared to change the current way (It can be argued that one of the main reasons for this is that the current behaviour is imprudently profitable to them). So it is to say, we may argue that the root problem lies, not at the lack of qualified theoretics, but in the people’s lack of willingness to listen them. This lack, I propose, can be traced to the persons keen will to continue the current demeanour in order to ensure his/her own current state, not an actual lack of understanding of the situation or what is heard.
