Morning going -to-be Cave dwellers, Unfortunately, good was not - TopicsExpress

Morning going -to-be Cave dwellers, Unfortunately, good was not the thought in my mind this morning but concerns toward ignornance was, and which needs to be periodically addressed. The only force that seems to counter ignorance is applied education, and mainly through fear. So heres a dosage of Fear to deal with. I tried to keep it simple and hope that it gets through. The real Fear factor of Black Gold (Oil) What is oil? Where does it come from? And, how much do we have? Oil is a fossil fuel that is extracted today from prehistoric organisms who settled at the bottoms of oceans and lakes millions of years ago. Oil is a finite (limited) resource. What are the Industrial uses of Oil? 1. Gasoline - The largest industrial use of oil is standard gasoline and diesel, which includes transporting goods and power machines. 2. Jet Fuel - A high-demand industry from passenger airplanes to cargo airplanes. It’s the third-largest user of oil. 3. Residual Oil – everything else and it has a lot of other uses; especially in plastics and other chemicals compounds. How much oil is there? How much oil is used daily? World demand = 90 million barrels per day. Estimated Total known Oil available (reserves) = 1.73 trillion barrels Now the Scary parts of the numbers (just doing the math). 1,730,000,000,000 = Total Barrels 90, 000,000 = World demand per Day (bpd) 32,886,000,000 = world demand per year (currently) 52.61 = Years remaining before no more oil. (Total barrels / world demand per year) or the current potential cave dwelling time estimate. Now the Bullshit you’re not hearing: This 52.61 years figure is based on keeping the rest of the global population stupid, which includes Africa, South America, and parts of Asia. In other words, more than 80% of the world population must remain unindustrialized (no machines, technologies, nolthing) for that 52.61 year deadline to be had. However, with China, India and other developing countries quickly becoming industrialized, the demand for oil will climb more than double or triple or even go higher than the current annual oil used today of 32.9 billion barrels per year. Now imagine if we just double the use of oil, our time left we shrink to less than 27 years. Frankly, I feel that number will probably triple in the next few years, leaving only a fraction of 18 years or so of oil left before the shit hits the fan. But don’t take my word for it, do the Math and research yourself. And now for even more of the Fear factor, you’re probably going to be around to see your kids aim to deal with this problem, and it will not be pretty. Stay ignornat and enjoy the show, Im shopping around for a cave.
