Morning thoughts The BIG craze in Christian circles right now is the God is not dead movie. Im sure its a fine movie and Ill watch it soon. But our biggest problem in society (church and secular culture ) is not atheists, atheism, or lack of a cultural acknowledgement of God. Rather, it is a cultured god. We want a God that will reinforce our perceived goodness but never confront us with our own sins. We want a shiny happy people kind of God and not a God that kicked butt in the temple. We want a God who says about himself, see them they love me because they have a Jesus fish when the God of Christian faith turned fish and bread into a feast to feed the hungry. I could go on but I think you get my point . The biblical God is not a nice, sweet schoolboy, my home boy, or baby Jesus. Hes resurrected Jesus; the one who was beaten to a bloody pulp, bearing the brokenness of all of us, carrying our sins, to give us a new life- one without end ! So Its true that Gods not dead but that doesnt begin to scratch the surface #Jesusisnotfireinsuranceheislifeassurance
