Mosiah 12: Abinidi is introduced. He prophecies of Noahs death. He condemns lip service from members and outlines the 10 commandments. Again I feel to emphasize the importance of our hearts. Our hearts can be symbolic of our desires. Leah mentioned that Noah walked in the desires of.his heart. his desires lead him to committing many sins that were wrong In the sight of the lord. It ultimate lead him and his preiests to pretend to understand (verse 25) the spiritual truths that the lord had taught through his ancient prophets. Abinidi teaches the relationship our desires can have on our capacity to make the best decisions. Ye have not applied to hearts to understanding. Therefore ye have not been wise (verse 27) Their desires are reflected in their behavior. This is outlined in verse 29 : They set their hearts upon riches They commit whoredoms They spent their strength with harlots They influenced the people to do the same. Are our desires in harmony with the Lords? How can we measure whither it is? Does our behavior reflect our desires to follow christ? What evidence is there in your life? Pretending is easy. Satan does it a lot. Know that satan can NEVER produce the real thing. God and satan NEVER shake hands. Ours is to keep covenants made. We do so by following the simple counsel of Abinidi : I know (his testimony) IF (the conditional) ye keep the commandments ye shall be saved. - (verse 33) . Conversion is a process not an event. Thus it is keeping the commandments or applying our hearts to understanding better tomorrow then we did today. It is to desire to do good continually ( Mos 5:2) . Cheers
