Most Reno & Carson locals know 2014 Gold Medalist David Wise went to Wooster High...Another world class athlete who went to Wooster years ago was three time Tour de France Winner Greg LeMond...During the school year, Greg used to bike ride to Wooster classes from South Washoe Valley,just a mile north of Carson City...After his classes ended at Wooster, Greg would bike home. He would climb Hwy 431 up Mt. Rose, ride along Hwy 28 next to Lake Tahoe, then head downhill east on Hwy 50 to Carson City, and north over the hill to his family home on Franktown Rd...Greg still holds a local climbing record he set as a teen with the Reno Wheelmen for a climb from Hwy 341 in Reno to Virginia City...Below Here is a copy of Gregs first business card, from Carson City, which he posted on his website, Greg LeMond...Greg now resides in Minnesota... LeMond had suspected strongly ( talking with the press) for many years that Lance Armstrong was cheating when Armstrong was a biking champion...Though many thought LeMond was simply jealous, it has now been proven that Greg was 100% right...From what we recall, Greg believed that Armstrong simply was not training enough mile to get the results he got, unless he was juicing...and Lance was...Juicing bigtime,,, Panama, Reno CBS Sports Radio IMO Greg would make a great guest, he was a long time Reno local, and might just talk quite a bit in a interview what he thinks about PED use in sports...
