Most esoteric words rarely appear in the usual course of common discourse because their use is too specialized. In other words, the topic rarely comes up, such as, to my great consternation I discover that, yet again, I am a cuckold. I mean, it is a common enough event, but it is rarely discussed. And, of course in the privacy of the marriage union, it will likely be phrased in a somewhat more forthright manner. However, many esoteric words should be used much more often, especially on Facebook. One of the most satisfying consequences of doing so is that the less intellectually endowed will depart from your circle of Facebook friends. Theyll probably go share a youtube of a kitty. To assist in this, I have assembled ten words that really need to be used more often on Facebook. I do so with either an example or a comment. 1) Canard Must I endure this moronic canard on my news feed yet again? 2) Conflate You are improperly conflating poverty and moral turpitude! 3) Bombastic I am purposely bombastic in order to encourage you to go away. 4) Desultory Will your desultory musings ever cease? 5) Lugubious well this one is just too useful to limit with an example 6) Imperious Are you always this imperious or do you reserve it for my group? 7) Penultimate I strenuously take umbrage with your penultimate statement. This one will usually silence them. 8) Screed Is this your last screed of the day or are there more forthcoming? 9) Obsequious Well, OK, youre not going to need this one very much on Facebook. But it COULD happen. 10) Truculent If you cant think of the correct word, just use truculent. Given the level of civility on Facebook, it will usually be correct. Please, do not feel constrained by these esoteric words. There are so many more good ones, like anathema.
