Most everyone knows a few months ago we downsized our lives- we made a decision 4 years ago to set goals to get out of debt- and simplify our lives- we had dealt and survived cancer and we knew something that most folks go their entire lives without realizing and that was laughter, family, and love- things that you cant put a price on- it was a 5 year plan and we rocked it- one by one we have paid debts off, smiled as we received titles and really started feeling accomplished- But we soon realized the only way to 110% get out of debt was to sale our beautiful home we built back in 2006- so we restored an old cottage on our property and put our fancy 4,000 square ft house on the market for sale- let me just say that me or my guys have no regrets- the cottage is our heart and soul- every corner, every wall, every floor, every tiny detail there is memories- and hard work that we did as a family- it is the great home feeling that swallows you when you walk through the door- anyway - over the last year, well almost 2 years We have struggled with the fact of selling our other house- we knew we wanted to be debt free- but as much as we tried to deny it, it was a part of us- there are two tiny handprints on the cement of the front porch that I maybe would never be able to see again- there are crepe myrtles and rose bushes that ALS grandmother (that just past away) bought and then sat in the yard telling us where we should plant them- the very soil that her daddy and great grand parents walked on- there were ALLOT of downfalls to selling - in fact the only pro to selling was a debt free life- 2 weeks ago while finding ourself in a conversation about the house- my brilliant husband comes up with the greatest idea EVER- My studio has been in richton for a few years now and at my current location going on 3 I believe- Ive been contemplating a move for some time because Ive outgrown the space- and Ive had allot of problems with the heat and air in building which has interfered with scheduling sessions on several occasions- His brilliant idea was to use the beautiful home as my studio- and office- we would be spending money Regardless on a lease and utilities etc for another location so why not use property that we have- the property that we actually own and then its also a perfect tax write off and magically a debt becomes an asset- It made perfect sense- how did I not think of this before???? I did consider the cottage for a studio at one time but it lacked the space needed for proper shooting and I knew that I wanted to live in it from the first time that I saw it- but I never once considered the bigger house for a studio- and the layout and set up is more than perfect- I have had butterflies since we made the decision and am anticipating the move! So hopefully this will be the final resting place of my studio- I know its not right on front street, but most of my work takes me out of town - and a bulk of my clients are from out of town- and Im certain if they will make a 1-5 hr drive for a session like some have, then 5 more minutes down the road outside of town wont bother them at all- As a child I used to fear change, but now I embrace it- and I love it! I finally found peace with a decision that I have been struggling with for about a year and thats the best feeling in the world! Peace is a great thing! Im so excited to announce the new studio will retain a southern comfort drive address! I appreciate all of my clients- new, previous, recurrent, and potential- I love you all and know that I am only where I am today because of your loyalty and trust! Looking forward to beautiful future sessions down Southern Comfort Drive! ~Les
