Most of my childhood was spent on the road, criss-crossing Africa, - TopicsExpress

Most of my childhood was spent on the road, criss-crossing Africa, the Middle-East and part of South America. I lost count in how many countries we actually lived :) Maman provided front line triage in crisis centres and war torn regions, while my Papa was a photo-journalist initially, before re-training as structural engineer and architect after one gruesome image to many…. Sadly, a lot of my personal mementos, especially a lot of my photos were ripped up and burnt. But there are hundreds and hundreds of negatives of my fathers work. One day, I will go through them. There are pictures, especially of the Lebanon before the brutal destruction of what once was the jewel, the Paris of the Middle East. Images of long forgotten and gone places in the Arabic peninsula like Yemen and Saudi-Arabia, especially beautiful old traditional buildings before the mad building boom of the Seventies. Also photo-journals of old Cuba etc. I think there are probably real treasures for historians :)
