Most of us have heard the saying “You are what you eat.” A more accurate statement would be “You are what you absorb.” Only the nutrients that get absorbed make up the body that is you. If you eat living foods that are easily digested, you get a lot of bang for your nutritional buck. But if you eat foods that require a lot of resources, well, let’s just say you could be getting more for your money. How is your nutritional bank account? Food is energy. Having a good energy reserve gives you the resources to accomplish the things that are important to you. Things like maintaining your focus at work (instead of being distracted), spending time with those you care about and being fully present (instead of tired), and accomplishing the plans God has for you (Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10). If you have this level of energy, great! And please what’s working for you. But if you read this and thought “I wish. . .” then join us next week as we talk about nutrition and how to really fuel your body. Learn and laugh with us Monday night, July 1st, from 6:30-8:00pm at the Jefferson County Board of Realtors building, 107 Third ST in Hillsboro. And bring a friend!
