Most of you know Im a bit of an Elton John fanatic (well, the only CD I lack is the 1977 Thom Bell Sessions EP, but I digress...) One of the first new songs of his I heard on the radio way back in 1994, after The Lion King soundtrack hooked me when I was 9 years old, was a song called Believe. When I was a kid, I think it was the sound - heavy, dark, brooding, more than a little nod to John Lennon, Id later learn - that drew me in. Now, with about 20 years of hindsight and a little better understanding of the words, it remains an all-time favorite. Now, for Bernie Taupins simple, direct declaration: I believe in love.
