Most roads in provinces re-opened except Damascus-Beirut highway 08/01/2015 Damascus, SANA, Most roads in different provinces were re-opened after being unpassable Tuesday due to the weather conditions the country is facing. Traffic department at interior ministry told SANA Thursday that Most of the roads in the governorates were re-opened, except Damascus- Beirut highway and a number of roads in al-Sweida province due to snow and ice. Wednesday, all roads in Damascus and its Countryside were passable in general except Damascus-Homs highway and al-Salam-Sa’sa highway were not passable, while Damascus-Beirut highway was hardly passable due to snow-drifts. The Traffic Department called upon drivers to use fog lights, check brakes and slow down to avoid accidents on crossroads, slopes and turns.
