Mostly Sunny and Mild for your Saturday SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — After a rather dreary end to the week brighter conditions are on the way today. Weak high pressure is building in for a short stay. Some clouds this morning will give way to mostly sunny skies. Clouds will start to build back in late this afternoon but the day is dry so if you have outdoor plans you are going to be just fine. Highs today will top out in the low 60s. A cold front will track through western Massachusetts tonight and gives us the chance for a light sprinkle or a shower. The cold front does not come with a lot of moisture but it does bring in some much cooler conditions for Sunday. Today is the pick of the weekend as we see a mix of sun and clouds for Sunday. It will also be blustery and cooler with highs topping out in the 50s. There will also be the chance for a sprinkle or shower as there will still be some instability and a cool pool aloft. The chilly temperatures don’t last too long. After a cold start on Monday temperatures will moderate, as a milder air mass streams in. Readings will top off in the lower 60s with sunshine. The moderating trend will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday as a southerly flow increases out ahead of a cold front. We could be near 70 by Wednesday afternoon. A cold front will swing through at some point on Wednesday with a few showers and cooler temperatures to follow. For a list of wind damage and flooding reports from the nor’easter, click here.
