Mother in-law wahala God please oooo I am 45, while my wife is 42, we got married six years ago, but we have just had our first child. Being our first baby, my mother and mother-in-law felt my wife would need some help, more so, because she delivered her baby through Cesarean Section. I know my mother could be a little overbearing, so I asked her to stay back and allow my mother-in-law to come over. I never knew I was courting trouble when I made the decision. As soon as she came, she started complaining about everything in the house. She saw everything in our home as cheap and inferior. And she wouldn’t stop telling me about how I brought her daughter from luxury to this wretched life. I try to make a joke out of it every time she talks about our home. I am not poor; neither do I live in a ghetto. I rented an apartment in one of the GRA’s in town and for my level; I don’t think I am doing badly. My wife realizes how embarrassed I am with her mother’s utterances and she would plead with me all the time. I can’t be rude to her because she is my mother-in-law, but she is pushing me to the wall. Please, what can I do?
