Moto Inzi for Sale Roger Kingdon and Moto Inzi have been a driving force and integral part of the Thailand Firefly 850 One Design fleet since its conception for the 2006 Phuket Kings Cup Regatta. Swahili for Firefly, Moto Inzi won the Multihull Class of Kings Cup Regatta on OMR the previous year after being launched on the eve of the regatta. The second of the Fireflys built by Latitude 8 Yachts in Phuket, Moto Inzi’s decks had been completed when the tsunami that devastated the region swept thru the shed on the southern Phuket foreshore. The waves on the side of the hull depict the waves of the tsunami. Moto Inzi has competed in every Kings Cup since 2005, claiming a win in 2011. Also competing in every Phuket Race Week since launch, winning in 2007. In 2007 and 2008, four Fireflys sailed to Langkawi for the Royal Langkawi International Regatta with Roger winning both regattas. Roger also disassembled Moto Inzi to take her to the Top of the Gulf Regatta in 2006 and the Samui Regatta in 2006 and 2007. The 200 mile passage from Pattaya to Koh Samui, into the squally southwest monsoon proved the seaworthiness of the Fireflys. His crew member for the overnight passage who had done ‘The Race’ on one of the maxi catamarans described it as his ‘worst night at sea, ever’. Roger has also been the Firefly One Design Class secretary since the class started. Unfortunately failing health has forced Roger to make the tough decision to end his racing days on Moto Inzi and put her on the market. Moto Inzi has always been meticulously maintained and is well equipped with a full set of racing sails in excellent condition as well as many 2 or 3 back up, mains, jibs and spinnakers for practice and club racing.
