Mouse had a very bad trip from Iowa to Alabama. Her tranquilizers did not work properly. She has a lot of difficulty riding two blocks if shes not sedated so you can imagine her difficulty on a long trip. I gave her one-fourth of a pill which is what shes supposed to have and that usually puts her to sleep for the whole trip. Instead, this time she was asleep for about 4 hours. The rest of the 14 hours, she was stressed to the max. She hyperventilated, gasped for breath, had coughing/gagging spells, ran a temperature, etc the entire way down. I talked, rubbed, and even sang her a lullaby trying to calm her down. Had to make frequent stops alongside the interstate just so she could catch her breath. By the time we arrived at my dads the poor little thing was beyond exhausted. Of course, her mom was beside herself! Talked to her vet, who is talking with the vet here in Alabama who is treating Mouse. Will let you know what happens. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for her.
