Move Over Jake Owens, There is a New Star in Vero Beach Award winning filmmaker Trent Duncan is set to release Ghostface vs. Michael Meyers this fall starring Vero Beach native Moses Cantu. Vero Beach, FL June 14, 2013-Vero Beach native Moses Cantu has a starring role in the latest film by award winning filmmaker Trent Duncan. Feature fan film Ghostface vs. Michael Myers is set for release by Trent Duncan Productions Inc. this fall. Cantu makes his film debut as Ghostface opposite Michael Myers based on John Carpenter’s Halloween series of slasher films. This is his first starring role in an independent film. Cantu performed his own stunts. Cantu, 31, is a salesperson at Toyota of Vero Beach. He answered a casting call after his wife encouraged him to follow his dream. In 2000, after a performance at the Sebastian River High School Shark Frenzy his senior year, Cantu knew he wanted to act. His teacher, Mrs. O’Brien said to him, “I see you going to Hollywood to audition for movies or go sell cars because you would be very good.” Cantu was recognized by Southeast Toyota as Toyota Professional Retail Outstanding Salesperson of the year in 2012. After high school, Cantu aspired to be a professional boxer and was on track with trainer James (Buddy) McGirt at McGirt Boxing. He boxed beside Arturo Gatti, Oscar De La Hoya and Laila Ali. His boxing career was stopped short after his daughter Lilianna was diagnosed with three congenital heart defects. Cantu devoted his time to caring for his daughter thru over fifty hospitalizations. Lilianna died on June 28, 2009 at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando. Inspired by his daughter’s strength Cantu makes every day count. His first casting call came only three weeks after he submitted his resume. Cantu was cast in the film without any prior professional experience. The Latino heartthrob isn’t worried a lack of formal training will hold him back. Many actors have no formal training including Tom Cruise, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy. Ghostface vs. Michael Myers will launch Cantu into a new career with a loyal fan base. It will be released in time for the 35th anniversary of Halloween. Cantu and his wife Sarah have three children.
