Movements dont belong to individuals or specific pockets of individuals. The only face to a movement is the picture of a crowd, however big or small it might be. No matter how many edges of banners you hold on to in the innumerable rallies that make a movement, irrespective of the number of mikes which capture your sentiments, despite the number of clicks of your face during the struggle, the movement does not belong to you. The good part about movements is that YOU belong to them. You, without your colour, color, badge, label, flag, shoelace and whatever else gives you a partisan identity. Thats what makes you independent. That may or may not lead to the success of a movement. With Hok Kolorob, the movement firstly, is not adequately successful. The Chief Minister having to bow her head is definitely an achievement, yes. The movement was an independent movement sparked by a group of people before the Kolorob spread like wildfire. Partisan forces too couldnt help but be forced to join the movement. In that sense, Independent Hence Successful , should not sound problematic. If I might add, its not remotely as offensive as putting up pictures of individuals from the movement and juxtaposing them with that of Malala Yousafzai with the words Join The Revolution below it. :) Movements dont belong to individuals or specific pockets of individuals. It suddenly stings because of ONE tag line leading you to follow the lets-make-a-custard-apple-seem-like-a-bomb attitude ? :) Dont forget that people dont forget the use of My and Movement side by side, over and over again. Stop indulging in a tug-of-war with the movement. Those who care enough let go before the rope snaps. :)
