Movie Review #2: The Grand Budapest Hotel. Picture a theatrical collaboration between Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock and...Quentin Tarantino. And you will have this movie. This is a murder mystery...sort of. Its a historical biopic...kind of. Its a period piece...in a way. It does have an all star cast. And some great European scenery (with what looks like a Nazi-like war occupation, but with ZZ instead of SS). It is funny and constantly changing gears. The dialogue and acting are excellent. Im not really sure what to think about it, but it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining and never boring. It was funny, intriguing and interesting. And weird. Very, very weird. And strange. But in a good way. Does that make sense? You have to pay attention (if you have ADD you wont make it through this movie). Another way to look at it is as a cross between Downton Abbey and Benny Hill...set in pre-war Hungary. Recommend, but for who I have no idea.
