Movie Review : Kick (Salman Khan) bollywood3 Rating : 3.75/5 Producer :Sajid Nadiadwala Director :Sajid Nadiadwala Music Director :Himesh Reshammiya, Meet Bros Anjjan, Yo Yo Honey Singh Starring :Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui With his high octane action and effortless acting, superstar Salman Khan is back with yet another of his entertainer’s in the name of ‘Kick’. Directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in other lead roles. We have been to a special show, and bring you the review much in advance. Story: Devi Lal Singh (Salman) is an over enthusiastic and adventurous person, who cannot stick with one job because he doesn’t get a “kick” out of it. Shaina (Jacqueline Fernandez) and Devi love each other, but Devi’s lack of focus on his career, makes the couple part ways. Shaina now decides to marry Himanshu (Randeep), a top cop. On the other hand, Himanshu is in search of Devil, a thief, whose face is covered with a mask. Who is this Devil ? Will Himanshu manage to nab him ? Will Shaina and Devi reunite ? For all the answers you need to watch the film on big screen. Plus Points: Kick has Salman Khan in it, and that fact could be just about enough to know that the movie is a full on entertainer. Well, Salman is better synced in his role, than in any of his recent movies. The actor looks dashing and lovable in every scene, and not to forget, handsome and young too. His appearance and unmatched aura automatically energizes the crowd. I could go on and on about this charming human being, but I have my constraints. Jacqueline Fernandez looks sizzling hot, and delivers a praiseworthy performance. She has been given enough scope to showcase her prowess. Randeep Hooda is top-notch and looks extremely dashing. He plays his part of a cop in search of Devil, perfectly. Other cast including Archana Puran Singh, Mithun and Saurabh Shukla too deliver laudable performances. Now, I will talk about the best who is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He is one actor who is capable of playing every kind of role in the world with perfection. From his entry in the second half, to his exit in the climax, he is magical. Sadly for Salman fans, he also over shines Salman in the scenes where they two come face to face. This is the first time in the history of films, that I did not want to villain to die and be there forever. He is a gem of an actor which India can be extremely proud of. Minus Points: The first half is all about romance and story-telling, however, it is too slow paced and also gets tedious at one point. A few good songs are abruptly placed in the plot. Also actors like Archana and Mithun are not given much scope to act. A few scenes including the one with Salman and Mithun in the bar, and Jacqueline’s friends’ eloped marriage are totally unwanted. So many parts, including the bike and Devil’s plotting sequences of the movie remind you of the Dhoom series. Technical aspects: Sajid Nadiadwala’s direction is top-notch. Not only does he executes the plot well, but also makes each of his character look beautiful. He has come up with a delicious recipe with the perfect blend of action, comedy, romance and melodrama. However, a dull screenplay spoils some fun. The first half is tedious, but the second half, is where the Devil, Nawaz and Randeep come to picture. Even the climax is backed with an emotional touch, and manages to leave a huge impression. Stunts in the movies are superbly executed and Salman’s bicycle stunts are executed supremely. The sound track of the film is excellent. Each and every song is well-written, nicely sung and amazingly choreographed. How much ever nice the songs are, some of them are just wrongly fitted in the screenplay an come from nowhere. Cinematography is amazing. The movie has been shot with some excellent camera angles and a high production value. Verdict: On the whole, Kick is a perfect Edi for all Salman fans, and one cannot just miss what it has to offer. With Salman’s action and comedy, Jacqueline’s hotness, Randeep’s appeal and Nawazuddin’s magic, Kick is sure shot blockbuster, which is a must watch with the entire family. Bollywood3 Rating : 3.75/5
