#MovieNews: Samuel L. Jackson Joins Quentin Tarantinos The Hateful Eight Live Reading Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Apr 18, 2014 by Brian Gallagher Ever since Film Independent announced earlier this month that they are hosting a live staged reading of Quentin Tarantinos screenplay The Hateful Eight, fans have been wondering which actors will be showing up to read for the filmmaker. Today, Film Independent revealed on their Twitter feed that Samuel L. Jackson will be a part of the festivities. While the tweet doesnt exactly say he will be a part of the cast, Deadline confirms that he has a role in the reading, although it isnt clear what character he will be playing. Quentin Tarantino had planned on directing this new script next winter, but he shelved the project indefinitely after the screenplay was leaked in January. Later that month, the filmmaker filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media for publishing the script online. We reported last month that the lawsuit may be thrown out of court, but a January 2015 trial date was set earlier this month, with both sides currently in court-ordered mediation. The live staged reading was originally set for Thursday, April 24 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), but it has since been moved to tomorrow, Saturday, April 19 at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Tickets for the highly-anticipated event, which cost $200, are currently sold out. Samuel L. Jackson received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Jules Winnfield in Quentin Tarantinos Pulp Fiction. He also starred in the directors Kill Bill Vol. 2 and 2012s Django Unchained. The Hateful Eight is in development and stars Bruce Dern, Christoph Waltz. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino.
