Moving in the Holy Ghost . . . When the Lord gets ready, you gotta move. How many remember that old song. You may be high, you may be low, you may be rich, you may be poor, but when the Lord gets ready, you gotta move. There was a freedom in that; the focus was on who was really in charge, and who was the ultimate authority. I honestly cant understand why anyone would want to move, in any other direction but what the Spirit wants to move. It is being declared once more, that the Spirit can do more in a moment, than we could ever do in our entire lifetime. When HE moves. What perplexes me, is that moving in the Spirit, is not really that hard. But it does have certain requirements. One, is that following the leading of the Holy Ghost, is the most important thing; in your ministry, in your personal life and in any church service you might attend to. Consider this. Many of our elders, pioneers of the gospel in this country, did not have a whole lot of todays education. There werent any Bible schools; no computers and not even many printed references to use. Then, how did they manage to follow the Holy Ghost, and produce such great revivals and miracles. Self, does not follow the Spirit. It never did. One of the most important things, is to study. Its not just all about the studying itself; its that when you study with an open heart and the right desire, God will open up things in His word that He does not always share with others. The Holy Ghost is the teacher; notice, I didnt say a teacher, I said the teacher. It is the Spirit that will teach us how to follow; how to move in the Spirit and how to know when its time to do so. The Holy Ghost does not have a program. I know that upsets some folk, but its true. The Spirit will go whenever and wherever it wants; it does not need permission or mans protocol. You have to be sensitive. I heard a renown epistle say just recently, that he never finishes a sermon. He goes about his message in the form he has set down, the necessary scriptures etc., and begins to speak. If the Spirit leads him in a certain direction, that is the direction he goes in; notes or no notes. Weve seen that. We use to see it a lot; the Spirit would minister an unction on something that was said, and the minister would follow up in that direction. Even if it was in a totally different direction than he planned. This man told a large ministers gathering, to throw out their notes, let the choir sing some other time, and follow what the Spirit wanted to do. He said, that this, is when miracles happen; when the greatest work gets done. Again, the Holy Ghost will teach you to follow. Even the most unlearned, living in the backside of nowhere, can learn to follow the Spirit. If they pray, fast, read and study and stay full of the Spirit. In short, the Holy Ghost loves to lead us. We dont really realize just how much the Spirit wants to move among us; the full work He wants to do. We dont understand just how much the Spirit wants to use us; how delighted He is when we let Him. We must be willing to give Him all of the Glory; and I mean, all of it. If we humble ourselves before Him, He will lead us. Even when I dont know what direction to go in or what to do, He does. He will, lead the way.
