Mr Gilbert Agbo, the National Secretary of the New Nigeria - TopicsExpress

Mr Gilbert Agbo, the National Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), said the registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) was a welcome development. Agbo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday that the registration was a milestone in the political development of the country. ``If INEC had refused to register the APC, there could have been a lot of cries; people could have called INEC all sorts of names. ``It is an affirmation that the space will continue to get wider and wider. The more, the merrier. ``I congratulate INEC in taking a decision that is very popular and the leadership of APC. We welcome the party on board to the community of political parties in Nigeria.’’ According to him, what is important is whether what they have is different from what has been on ground. ``It is not enough to say that we have been merged, or we are a stronger party’’, he stressed. Agbo said the society needed practical programmes that would improve the lives of Nigerians and bring about the desired change. He said the leadership of APC had important role to play in the society and in the community of political parties in the country. ``I wish to advise the party to ensure that its activities are guided by law, especially by the Electoral Act’’, Agbo said.
