Mr. Gist, Please, please help us to stop the deconstruction of the Bemis Cotton Mill. Losing the Mill would be devastating to South Jackson. We are appealing to Vicki Foote also to help us in getting the Mill put on the Historical Register. We realize that Mr. Helms as owner sees the profit of selling the parts of the building, but he does not have the best interests of the community in mind. We must stop the crews immediately who are already in the Mill and taking parts from it. We understand that ideas have to be submitted and investors sought who would have a vision for this community. I have researched on the internet other textile mills that have repurposed their buildings. I have links to several of them on our facebook page: Save the Bemis Mill!
