Mr. Jax never ceases to amaze - twice now on our dawn patrol (blessed be that El Guapo miraculously chose to top off some extra beauty sleep on both occasions) weve shared the field with a raccoon - and in quite close proximity. To see the chemical/hormonal dump occur is impressive - he turns downright electric, nearby lampposts start shorting out... The coon was 15-20ft away each time, and while being totally aware of our presence, (foolishly) seemed to have no concern. Jaxs ruff extended from his nose to the tip of his tail, muscular ripples danced across his stiffened body. Jax was on my right (as always) and the coon was on my L. Desperately, with every muscle cell and sarcomere, Jax wanted to launch across and waste the mutha. But, he didnt. He trotted, head cranked hard sideways, pulsing, fasciculating, panting, blood mixed in equal parts w/adrenaline. But never did he cross my line. Love him.
