Mr. President forget about the pay cuts, let us cut on - TopicsExpress

Mr. President forget about the pay cuts, let us cut on hypocrisy! - How much does state house spend each day? - Do we need 400 members of parliament to represent Kenyans? - Do we need the Senate, if the roles of senate could be performed adequately by National assembly? - Do we need this massive and headless affirmative action - leading to such massive nominations? Women have for long represented their issues with such force that they were paid attention to even when out of parliament. - Do we need the colossal numbers of MCAs, most of whom just sit around; and the nominated ones earn without representing anyone in particular? - Should MCAs, MPs, Senators, Commissioners and civil servants be drawing huge allowances to do work they are being paid a salary to do? - Why do we have so many duplicated roles in Kenya- when will staff rationalization ever be done in state bureaucracy? - Do we need commissions like Sara Serems Commission while we still have other organs like the Public Service Commission in place? -Why do we have all these separate devolved funds (CDF etc) that are just used to advance parochial interests - How is productivity in the public service measured? Rather than champion for pay cuts, the presidents should have champion for a staff and remuneration rationalization process that addresses fundamental issues. As things stand, Jubilee government has taken a PR approach to an issue that requires a proper policy framework, legislation and institutional review.
