Mr. (Rev.Dr.Prof.) James Packer on Covenant Theology. The old - TopicsExpress

Mr. (Rev.Dr.Prof.) James Packer on Covenant Theology. The old Master, who made a few strategic mistakes but is solid far more often than not, talks about how Anglicanism is a Reformed Church [Reformed, not Lutheran, not Ubiquitarian on the Table, not Tractaholic, not liberal, but Reformed] but that 17th century Anglicanism cuts itself off from the Reformed mainstream in the 17th century and got onto the slippery slope of semi-half-whack-Pelagianism. He further notes that CoE has failed to see the WCF as a theological outgrowth of what had been current in the English theology of its day, a revisionist reaction but not factual or historical. Imagine some modern TFO or cleric telling you the WCF reflected wide English currents in theology? It wont happen, but Jim makes the point.
