Mrs. Hestel Wilson Troxtell, age 78 of Somerset, KY, was born on Febraury 20, 1936 to the late Tommy Lee and Ellar Ard Johnson. She passed away at her home on June 7, 2014 with loved ones by her side. Hestel was born in the Pottershop Community of rural Wayne Co. Ky. The aunt who raised her, Thelma Ard Neeley, her son William Frankie Wilson, two brothers Marshall L. and Doyal T. Johnson, her first husband and the father of her children, William Marvin Wilson precedes her in death. Also preceded by a step-son, Jeffery Scott Troxtell. Surviving Hestel is her husband of fifteen years, Oliver Gene Troxtell, three sisters, Thelma Sue Whitis of Cincinnati, OH, Becky Cromer and Yvonne Johnson. She is also survived by two children: a daughter, Kathy (Steven) Mantooth of Nancy, Ky. and a son, Stan (Lorrie) Wilson of Burdette, KS. Two step-daughters, Shirley Ann McClure of Somerset, KY and Cindy Correll of Somerset, KY. Hestel was blessed with five grandchildren who also survive her: Garnett Wilson, Ashlee Mantooth, Stacey Mantooth, Jessica Wilson and Weston Wilson. The hundres of cards, thousands of prayers and phone calls received by Hestel during her illness show the love and concern that was shared by her and her extended family, church members, co-workers, neighbors, and friends too numerous to name individually. She worked at the Somerset Walmart for twenty-four years and twenty-nine years at Palm Beach. Hestel spent many years of her life as a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Faubush, and most recent years Parkers Mill Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday June 9, 2014 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
