Ms. Alma and I served mini-meat pies and water to each of seven groups of third graders today. Abigail, the housekeeper played by Adriana, an eighth grader, told the story of the house and its walls made of cypress hand cut beams packed with bousillage-a mixture of mud, moss, and deer hair. The house is over 200 years old. The land was given as a dowry to Louise Prudhomme-Rouquier. Her father was educated in France and was a royal surgeon. He got the land as part of a land grant.
