Ms Sanghhvi has reiterated Chetan Bhagats op-ed piece in TOI yesterday. The two of them have, in their different ways, suggested that the only reason Chetan Bhagat has not won over the intellectual, left-leaning snobs, is because of their alleged snobbery. Id like them both to note that many of his critics, like me, dont care where/why/how he came into writing books. (It is him that reminds us of the IIM credentials, much more than anyone would care to pay attention to) I dont care about his choice of language: high-brow, low-brow, middle-brow, whatever. There is such a thing as being critical of his insufferable, regressive views, expressed freely through his columns; there is also such a thing as objecting to the celebration of mediocrity, no matter how hard the balance sheet tells us to look the other way.
