Mud Lake fire update: The fires have grown, but are not any more threatening than yesterday, Forestry officials say. Theyve grown away from the community and the wind is pushing it in a safe direction. A waterbomber worked on the area all day and will continue again tomorrow. The fires north of HVGB near Grand Lake Rd. are all small (each less than a hectare). About a dozen firefighters from Nfld arrived today. They did ground work on the Grand Lake fires. Most flames are down, Forestry says. Theyre mainly only targeting hot spots. Theyre back at it all again tomorrow. (Pictures are of Mud Lake direction from lower Valley last night and this afternoon)
