Mudgee LAC - Media Release - Wednesday 14 August 2013 Yarrawonga fire destroys house A home on a large acreage on Spring Creek Road Yarrawonga was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed. The home was found completely burnt by the owners son who saw smoke coming from the direction of the homestead whilst moving sheep and went to investigate. Police are continuing the investigation into the cause of the fire. Theft from Vehicle Assorted tools, 12 volt batteries, fuel caps, fuel drum, witches hats and drilling core equipment has been stolen from two vehicles parked on a property on the Ulan-Wollar Road Ulan. The theft occurred between 3.30pm Monday 12 August and 7.40am Tuesday 13 August. Theft of Copper Wire Police would like to hear from any persons that may be able to help with investigations into the theft of copper wire. On Tuesday 6 August between 5.00pm and 3.00pm Monday 12 August unknown persons have stripped copper wire from a power pole on the Moorefield Road at Coolah. In a separate incident, 3-4 metre lengths of copper wire were cut from four power poles along a section of the Castlereagh Highway between the Golden Highway and the village of Birriwa. The theft occurred between 9.00am Thursday 1 August and 4.00pm Wednesday 7 August.
