Muffin has, incidentally, discovered the chickens. Inevitable really; one of the chickens regularly gets out and has a run around the place. Anyway, on the first occasion they met, a chicken hid in some plants, peered out at Muffin, and made some concerned/puzzled clucking noises. Muffin in turn regarded this strange looking creature with a great degree curiosity, and some wariness. Evidently the chickens and Muffin have since got the measure of each other; yesterday I was working outside as it was starting to spit when a concerned clucking headed in my direction. Looking up I saw a chicken wandering towards me followed by Muffin. Muffin however was not pursuing the chicken; the chicken was doing its usual thing of getting in the way of anyone walking up and down the path. What Muffin wanted, and made vocally plain, was to be let in the house, and out of the rain. The chicken wandered off to one side to regard the pair of us with great suspicion.
