Mulenga Sata Determined to Become LGAZ President Reports coming out of Solwezi in the North Western Province are that the race for the presidency of the Local Government Association of Zambia, LGAZ, is very tight with the battle being between Lusaka City Council, LCC, Mayor Mulenga Sata and the incumbent Daniel Chisenga who is also the immediate past Mayor of the LCC. Mulenga who is president Michael Sata’s son, stated a few weeks ago that he would not be contesting the presidency of what now appears to be the prestigious position president of the LGAZ but has now u-turned. He is right now in Solwezi campaigning vigorously and sources say he will stop at nothing to add another title to what he already has. Mulenga is also the Patriotic Front, PF, Lusaka District chairman. Sources have indicated that there are infact hordes of PF cadres imported from Lusaka and some Copperbelt towns to intimidate Chisenga and two other candidates into succumbing to let Mulenga run unopposed.
