Mumbai has a reputation of a bastion of food innovations.This so-called food revolution happening in the Bay Area has seen many of the country’s best new restaurants sprouting like mushrooms . And for those of you searching for a culinary experience, the newly opened, 5- The Restaurant is worth a try. Nestled amid the busy roads of Khar west,this restaurant is a perfect spot for a laid back dinning experience. The decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine.The restaurant was abuzz with excited energy and was comfortably full with seemingly satisfied patrons. We started our meal with the Baked mushrooms stuffed with scarmoza cheese. This dish has tenderly cooked mushrooms with hot oozing cheese served with a spiced peanut sauce. We also went in for the Baked basil fish which was light and tender. The serving was sufficient for two people and the presentation was neat and minimal. For the main course, We decided to go with the Bacon stuffed Chicken.The chicken was medium baked allowing it to keep all the moisture intact where as the bacon was prepared with a white sauce stuffed perfectly into the tender chicken. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. We also tried the well done grilled Tenderloin steak which was grilled to perfection with adequate sauces and green baked veggies to accompany. The servings were big and heavy but it was well worth it. There were few desserts on the menu, but we went with an original 3 layered cheese cake served with chilled condense milk. The cake was simply divine.In addition we were served with their famous Hazelnut Creme Brûlée which had a burned caramel crust on top, giving the moose textured dish a perfect crunch.
