Municipal Parking Deck Demolition begins April 21st Town of Maynard 195 Main Street Maynard, Massachusetts 01754 Kevin Sweet, Town Administrator FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Municipal Park Deck Demolition begins April 21st, 2014. Local businesses and residents are advised that the demolition, removal, and grading/paving of the Municipal Parking Deck will commence on April 21, 2014. The entire project is expected to take four weeks to complete. In addition to the spaces above and below the deck, a portion of the Summer Street Lot and the triangle center lot will be unavailable for parking during this process. All efforts will be made to maximize downtown parking once all safety precautions are in place. To this end, the Town will not be charging for parking in the Summer Street lot (Lot A), the municipal lot behind Nason Street (Lot B), or at the meters on Summer Street from Memorial Park to the fire station. Meters will be in use on the remaining streets and lots throughout the downtown area. While the temporary loss of parking may have an impact on day to day matters, the Town and local businesses are hopeful that the final parking situation is both safer and more convenient for all those in need of downtown parking. Business owners are asked to encourage employees to use Lot B for all day employee parking enabling street spots and Lots A and C to remain open for customer and frequent turnover traffic.
