Municipal funding for #startups in #Belarus possible. The Ministry of Economy has plans to amend Decree No.255 of 21 May 2009 by introducing the provision on a shared funding mechanism for startups, which will allow their organizers to receive subsidies from municipal budgets to offset up to 50% of their expenditures. Over the last three years the Ministry in association with the #Minsk City Executive Committee has been organizing the implementation of the plan to coordinate preparations for and actual startup events in Minsk and the regions. “Our experience shows that organizers use their own funds and money provided by sponsors to organize startup events,” officials said. At present startups in Belarus can get financing from a number of state and foreing investors through winning the contest Startup Belarus or other international contests.
