Queensland Forecast Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers about much of the east coast and adjacent inland, tending scattered later in the day about the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast. Isolated thunderstorms may develop about parts of the southeast of the state late in the evening. Isolated showers may also extend into the southern and central interior during the afternoon. Areas of morning frost over the parts of southern and southeastern interior. Moderate to fresh mostly southeast to northeast winds, tending moderate south to southwesterly over western areas in the afternoon. Saturday 5 July The high will weaken over the northern Tasman Sea. The inland trough will move eastwards and push offshore over southern waters by late morning. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms will persist about the southern and central east coast ahead of the trough in the early morning before fine and sunny conditions spread from the west. Isolated showers may persist through the day about the northeast tropical in the fresh to strong onshore flow. Fine and mostly sunny over the interior. Morning frost possible about the Granite Belt. Weather Situation A high pressure system over eastern New South Wales extends a weakening ridge across southern Queensland. The high will move slowly northeastwards and will weaken as it moves over the northern Tasman Sea on Saturday. A new high will become established over South Australia on Saturday and will remain near stationary on Sunday.
