Music News ! The Cadillac Three Impress the British, Score Classic Rock Honor ! They may sing about The South in their biggest single, but the Cadillac Three have been spending time across the pond, too. It looks like those trips are paying off. After playing a handful of European shows this summer — including a performance at the Sonisphere Festival, where they opened for Metallica — the Nashville-based country-rockers have earned a Best New Band nomination at the upcoming Classic Rock Roll of Honor ceremony. More commonly known as the Classic Rock Awards, the Roll of Honor is a yearly awards show hosted by the U.K.-based Classic Rock magazine. Sammy Hagar — Van Halen vet, Montrose founder and tequila devotee — will host this years event, taking over an emcee role previously occupied by the likes of Gene Simmons and Duff McKagan. Motörhead, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath are also nominated for awards, but the Cadillac Three stands out as the only twangy group on the ballot. Ironically, Cadillac band mates Jaren Johnston, Kelby Ray and Neil Mason wont have to fly overseas to attend the show. In honor of its 10th anniversary, the Classic Rock Roll of Honor is heading stateside this year, taking over the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, California, on November 4th. Four days later, though, the Cadillac Three will leave the country, setting sail on Florida Georgia Lines This Is How We Cruise, a half-week cruise between Florida and the Bahamas.
