Must be an Election Year. Isnt it amazing how from January to budget crunch time in April the State is flat broke, in debt, and no money to share. Now all of a sudden in June and July we have money for Rome SD to help patch the hole in the budget that was rejected by voters (remember Rome, you were only voting on $800,000). New Hartford and Utica are getting new street repairs. And the kicker is Utica SD is getting over $4M to implement an 8 hour school day. ( I know I forgot some of the other pet projects.) Folks, this isnt gift or grant money. It didnt magically appear out of thin air. It is our taxpayer money that we give to the State by having them take it from us to give back to us as if they are doing us a favor. And if there was any interest collected in the process they keep it.
