My 14 year old son was diagnosed with Lyme from his Orthopedic back in February. They tested the fluid that was in his knee. His pediatrician treated him with Antibiotics. Since he missed so much school and because of the severity of his symptoms I wanted to make sure he was being treated properly. I was not able to get into a LLMD so went to and Infectious Disease Specialists. He ran some tests and said he had the antibodies of Babesiosis in him and then ran the actual test a month later. I got a phone call from the nurse today saying he doesnt have Lyme anymore and he doesnt have Babesiosis either and that he had it at one time but not anymore. My son is still having severe symptoms of Lyme or other co infections. The nurse told me hes having the after effects of Lyme. and left me at that. She basically told me they are done treating him. Im confused and frustrated and a bunch of other things and all I want to do is cry because I feel like Ive been just kicked to the curb. Suggestions???
