My 89 year-old grandfather casually heated a CAN of corned beef in the microwave. We have been very strict with the kasambahay not to extend her weekend breaks so that we can restrict his access to the stove. He has had a long trail of burnt sinaing, oatmeal and even drained an entire kettle of water he was trying to boil but forgot to turn the stove off on. It also does not help that the maid is willful and has been rather delinquent with timekeeping. Sometimes she reports back to work tuesday already. Im not too excited that he has learned a new trick. He means well but im afraid one day he will burn the house and with it my 89 year-old bedridden grandmother. By the way, im on sick leave today. I dont know how long hes been heating canned food in the microwave.
