My Farewell speech>>> Respected HOD , teachers ,technical and non-teaching staff, PhD scholar’s and freshman of center for bioinformatics ,pondicherry university. You are here to say goodbye to us, and i dont have a good word for it in English – but thanks to google, the best is “au revoir”. Which stand for “Good bye till we meet again” and in hindi Fir milenge chalte chalte. This is the 4th time Ill speak to you from this dais and the last. Weve been together 2 years now, and almost a year for these fresh face’s and soon itll be time for me to go. But before I do, I wanted to share some thoughts, some of which Ive been saving for a long time. After reading Chetan’s Bhagat Two states i always wanted to visit this place and here i am. I got admission call letter from Pondicherry university. While coming through ECR when i passed the University i saw the sea beach for the first time in my life and i was really excited to go to the beach and till now i carry the same enthusiasm to go to beach and jump into water any time be it day or night. Pondicherry entrance test have bought us all 37 people from 15 states of India to one of the best holiday destination “pondicherry” where people come in search of Peace. As everyone say and i believe Pondicherry is a beautiful place and there are a few favorite place where i like to stand ,say university beach in the morning to see the rising sun and spend some time at roof of silver jubliee building during evening. Ive been thinking a bit at these places. Ive been reflecting on what the past 2 years have meant and mean. And the image that comes to mind like a refrain is a nautical one. Today, as I stand here and speak, I recollect the day we joined this department almost two years ago. The Centre for bioinformatics which will always hold a special place in our heart , definetly Our CV’s and resume. We all came from different college and university with mixed feelings. Some of joy, some of intrigue and some of apprehension of how this place would accept us and what was in store for us to this day. Today when I ponder, I wonder where those two years went.....They simply fleeted by like the sands of time and have ushered us to this day. today we face the enormous task of bidding adieu to our friends, our teachers, our peers and a part of our lives. Within 40 days , another chapter of our lives ends with advent of a shining new one beckoning us! It is ,undeniably difficult to say to goodbye to what better way to do it than celebrate? Celebrate the fact that we, entering these department as saplings and having been nurtured and cared for by our dear teachers, can now call ourselves young trees, ready to face the world and whatever comes with it. People ask how I feel about leaving. And the fact is, parting is such sweet sorrow. The sweet part is no assignment and less exams and completing a degree. The sorrow—the goodbyes, of course, and leaving this beautiful place and no more free movie downloads Today I take this opportunity to thank all our teachers ,They held me when I stumbled, patted me when I achieved, advised me when I faced problems, guided me when I was in doubt . I owe them everything and I salute them for all that. It has been a matter of pride to belong to this institution and i look forward to an unending association with the department I want to thank all the technical staff and Phd scholars for helping us for the lab sessions and with our projects. usually i don’t say thank you to friends but today i think i must not miss. To my friends ,We have had our little fights, arguments and misuderstadings but all those have helped us grow more in respect and concern and understanding for each other. Thank you for being there whenever I wanted . i want to thank you all for all support when i failed and cheers on success. we have lot more moment to cherish but to name few... I still remember the day we all went to beach for first time at 5 ‘ o clock in morning and for that we all didn’t slept the whole night. Be it late night stay for practical exam , or for any function preparation, BE it the holi or diwali masti, having fun at mess during lunch or dinner, enjoying chicken at rehmaaan chacha shop or birthday parties at Beans or chilles. Evening walk in university campus and cycle trip to auroville. Be it the kodaikanal trip or kanayakumari trip the time spent with you all will always there with me . Thank you for making my birthdays really special , giving new name Vikky donor from Bikas i still have the cartoon made by sachin on gift wrap. Not to miss 175 birthday bumps on this birthday. Time flies so fast and we are about to depart. Although there may be some of us who will yet be together as we go through work or PhD, I feel that for most of us it is indeed a parting world. I encourage of you to set goals for yourself and to strongly stand for something that can give your life direction and purpose. I hope that all of us be an asset of our country not a liability. Last but not the least ,for our freshmen, As I was gathering input for this speech, i thought of including a profound quote offering encouraging advice to these freshman, and then i,realised no more “papa kehta hai bada naam karega type lines”. Just want to say i hope you all 34 will stand with each other when needed. Just enjoy the work you do and have fun .My best wishes are with you be successful in life have fun and enjoy I wanted to say you all are really lucky to have seniors like us . But on the contrary i want to say to that we are really lucky to have you all as our juniors . you all worked day and night seeking time from your busy schedule in last few weeks to say thanks, but I could say as much to you. We are really grateful to you for this super, mast nd fantastic event... Thank you thank you all. As one of the passing out student of 2014, I wish you the best luck. At last as my love for sea and sand is well know so I will like to end my thanks giving with this peom from Shri Aruobindo collection The Sea at Night The grey sea creeps half-visible, half-hushed, And grasps with its innumerable hands These silent walls. I see beyond a rough Glimmering infinity, I feel the wash And hear the sibilation of the waves That whisper to each other as they push To shoreward side by side,– long lines and dim Of movement flecked with quivering spots of foam, The quiet welter of a shifting world. ..Thanks thanks alot Aleena Francis Hemant Arya Priyesh Agrawal Mohd Babu Khan Rider Swapnil Bhujbal Santosh Behera Bhagath Kumar Palaka Sanajaoba Chingtham Susheel George Chandy Shubhankar Dutta Dingam Phaomei Dharam Nandan Ela Bicpu Christina Florina Guneswar Sethi Garima Suri TasNeem HeeRa Ishwar Patidar Ishanee Srivastava J Ram Ram Malan Jo Ankush Jadhav Jadeja Mani Shaheerah Khan Nilesh K Rana Swetha Kalarikkal Anusree Jayarajan Anurag Raaj Murali Ayaluru Nitu Saha Om Soni Kannan M.
