My Father and Grand Father. My Father originally joined the Navy as an Aviator, he then was offered a transfer(earlier combat) to fly for the Marines VMF 224. He flew a Vaught F-4U Corsair(Blue, bent wing 2000hp fighterplane) in combat missions in the South Pacific, most notably in the Marianna Islands and Okinawa. After the war he was stationed at the naval base in Millington, TN. In 1950 his squadron was called back into service to serve in the Korean War, this time he flew a F86 Sabrejet. He loved the United States Marine Corps.
