My Fellow Americans: If you read nothing else of this post, please read the excerpt from our Declaration of Independence below. I do not mean to foment a riot or any type of disturbance with the following message. It is simply to change a fundamental right that all voting peoples of the United States have but may have forgotten about. It is contained in the Declaration of Independence. I include only the part that is pertinent to what we have been experiencing in Washington D.C. For so long now: Gridlock for the sake of gridlock. Government shutdowns that threaten our Seniors , closes our parks, civil service workers not being paid, womens rights are being threatened, and the list goes on. Forgive the length of this message but I must get this message through. The Declaration of Independence outlined exactly the cure for governments when they fail to do their subjects bidding. Senators and Congressman vote in their own interests. The Supreme Court becomes more liberal or more conservative at the whim of a Presidents signature. More input needs to come from the people on all bills and appointees. Please read below an excerpt from the Declaration. Excerpt from the Declaration: That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. Food for thought. Im not seeking to abolish our government but requesting that they pledge their votes the way their majority constituents vote. Also, there should be no more pacs or special interest groups allowed to contribute to election funds. Furthermore, every candidate running for office should be allotted equal funds and TV time for campaigning paid for by the government.
