My First Film Review SEEDS: The film by Dazl Dazl Set in a small area of the city, Amar Colony - New Delhi. A place well frequented by Tibetans living in the vicinity, mostly call center employees and college-goers. A Dickensian projection of Tibetan youths in search of elusive better life, it brings out intricately the over lapped stories of our youths identity crisis, exiles alienation, the nebulous vision of home. Grim light of the film stands in tandem with Tibetans precarious state in exile. The dialogues are brutally honest, stands in stark contrast to what we would expect. The actors are natural. Although it is a short 30 odds mins long film, it leaves me convulsed, to see the pregnant young girl having ruined her life, the denouement has befallen at the pinnacle of her youth, when life is all about peroration and hope. Down right, It is a disturbing Film, but may be thats because we have been able to cope so well with our loss, able to hide the hole, the emptiness with our true identity as a displaced refugee and myriad of societal concepts of performing the good deeds for the common cause or may be it was disturbing to watch, the fact that this film slaps you with the reality we somehow want to hide in our humor, witticism, materialistic desires. It is as if a monkey has learn to swim so well that even though he doesnt have yet grown the gills but could adapt under water, and when he is taken back to the land, the monkey heaves to breathe, for he is delusional now that he thinks he has turned into a fish, and cannot breath on the land. vimeo/19272732
