My Girl has been sick the past few days. She came home Tuesday... The Day of Chaos... with a temp. from school. Yesterday, she woke up with a temp. Today, she wasnt fevered but she was really congested so shes home today too. NASTY Stuff going around and now here is another HEADS UP for EVERYONE... New Mosquito borne illness... Chikungunya is NASTY and spreading up to America from Latin America. Ugh... its a VERY Miserable Miserable thing to get! Stay UP On Your Vitamins... ESPECIALLY Vitamin C... Eat Lots of Apples and Oranges... Organic if you can afford it. Get this... this virus comes to us VIA a GENETICALLY MODIFIED MOSQUITO... YA... That was developed, tweaked to help control populations of mosquitos that carry the Dengue fever and now these GM Mosquitoes have a disease of their own. GEEZ... As if things arent already going wild weasel... SO... Anyway, Im posting information concerning it... Umm...Athena, our Lab mix came to visit us yesterday after her vicious attack by a Pit Bull at Petco. Her poor face on the right side is drooping so bad. The Pit bit through her jawbone... she looked terrible but still bounced around happy like nothing happened... although she did sleep a lot. I guess Athena will just have to stick to the dog park and hopefully wont EVER be around another Pit. Nothing against Pits... I like them but I have been around them enough to know they have quirks about them and if they arent raised right, they tend to be pretty dangerous dogs.
