Oh, my good LORD!!! I dont know about you, but I have really had to fight to break through and do what the Lord is asking me to do concerning this blog post. I have been procrastinating like crazy for three days to write this! Even though I got this word over a week ago, there has been relentless resistance to actually putting my fingers on the keyboard and begin typing. Whenever this happens, I know that I know that I know that there is something powerful around the corner. I pray that for you as well as you read. I am asking the Lord to rock your world this week - and every week in GOvember. As I type this, I have Billy Ocean on repeat singing When the Going Gets Tough ... go ahead ... laugh ... but I seriously need this reminder and push right now as I write. I am laughing at myself in the midst of the crazy lack of enthusiasm that I have about releasing this word. To clarify, I am always excited about sharing what the Lord is saying and doing, but I get really disgruntled when the block happens. The block. Paralyzed from the inside out. Those moments when I want to do anything BUT what God is asking me to do. Can anybody relate?! If so, perhaps this word will ring truer than true for you, based solely on what I am sensing as I attempt to get it out of my mortal body and into the e-world. Here goes ... This is the month that NO will turn into GO for those who have been asking God specific questions about when, what, or how they should proceed in His plans for their lives. A little over a week ago, the Lord began to speak to me about GOvember on almost a daily basis. Billy Ocean says it best ... When the going gets tough, the tough get GOing! Hey, Hey , Hey, Hey, Heyyyy! It will not be easy. In fact, in order to break OUT and break THROUGH this month, you will have to do some things you dont necessarily feel like doing. This is where discipline comes in. He has been teaching you about the importance of discipline for a reason. It is so you will succeed in this time of transition from the birth canal into your new world over the next few months. Dont wait until you feel like doing something to do it ... DO IT, then you will feel like it. (Read that again and again until you actually get it.) Using the birthing analogy again, when the baby is crowning, there is some serious pressure happening - on both the one who is birthing and the one who is being birthed. This is the moment of potential bonding that will take the relationship to another level, if handled properly. Press in and let Father God, El Shaddai, the Many-Breasted One, love and sustain you. I encourage you to seek His bosom in this tough season. Yes. I said bosom. >>>>> When the GOing gets tough, the tough get GOing. >>> Love is the most powerful force in the universe. 1-1-1 Each month for the past two months, the Lord has given me a specific prayer focus. This month, I have a strong desire to pray for RELATIONSHIPS. Pray that God will bring the right people into your life at the right time - friendships, partnerships, business, romantic, etc. Pray for the relationships you already have as well. Ask God to strengthen them, bless them, and teach you how to nurture them. While you are at it, dont be afraid to ask Him to remove the relationships that cannot go with you as you step into His greater plans and purposes. I also want to invite you to pray with me every day in November at 1:00 PM. Lee Strobel, one of my favorite authors and apologists, suggests in one of his teachings that the Body of Christ unite for ONE minute every day to pray for ONE person at ONE oclock. This ONE-ONE-ONE prayer strategy is a simple and effective way to contend for those on our hearts. I challenge you to pray for that ONE person in your life that gives you the greatest grief and heartache this month. Pray for that person who you struggle to be in a healthy RELATIONSHIP with ... and watch God move. :) I set a daily alarm on my phone to remind me to do this in November. Would you like to join me?
