My Golden Globes comments (spoilers if you have not seen yet)...and none of it has to do with fashion, ahem! Awesome work in recognizing such diverse shows and actors/actresses who were involved in projects I knew nothing of...I am particularly interested in checking out Transparent. Is that an Amazon show or something? Kudos to the awards to Birdman for Screenplay and Acting, to Edward Redmaynes moving performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and that film also won for Best Score. I much prefer both Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything to the winner of the Best Drama Film, Boyhood. I thought it was good but I liked those two movies more. I think Boyhood is overrated because of the whole idea that it was filmed one week a year over 12 years and the movie critics and such people are just floored at the concept. The concept was cool, the movie was...really good. But not as good as either The Theory of Everything, Birdman, or The Imitation Game in my opinion. I also loved Birdman much more than The Grand Budapest Hotel, which won for Best Comedy or Musical Film. But at least Into the Woods did not win. Surprised at the wins The Affair won! The commercials for the show would always come on after Homeland on Showtime but it just didnt interest me. At least Game of Thrones or Downtown Abbey did not win...I really have no interest in those despite the hardcore fandom they have from people I know. I now want to see the Fargo tv show just to see what the fuss is all about. I know the movie was well loved but I really never felt compelled to see the TV show. OH and YAY for Kevin Spacey for wining for House of Cards. Overdue! The only other person I would not have minded winning would have been James Spader for Blacklist. Takeaways... *it remains a 2 man Oscar race for Best Actor between Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne. Too early to determine who will win but they are for sure Oscar nominees. *I dont feel in a rush to see Foxcatcher...although Channing Tatum...hmmm *I still DO need to see Whiplash for best Supporting Actor... This award is so much more than myself. It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes. - Gina Rodriguez Most genuine and heartfelt speech goes to...Gina Rodriguez! I so dont care what she was wearing. https://youtube/watch?v=veftkYtLVBM #GoldenGlobes
